ADEDH (adedh.app) is a small, invite-only tool for Magic: The Gathering players to keep track of their cards, decks and trades. It is run by Doug as a personal project. It is free, shows no ads, and does not sell or rent anyone's information. This page explains what the app keeps and why.
What the app collects
- From Google sign-in: your name, email address and Google account ID. That is all the app asks Google for. It never sees your Google password and has no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything else in your Google account.
- What you put in: your card collection and the files you import (for example ManaBox exports), decks, deck ideas, sealed products, want and trade lists, games you log, price alerts, settings, and any feedback you send.
- Connections you make: the friends you add, the stores you join, and trade requests between you and them.
- Basic technical records: how long pages take to load, so the app can be kept fast. These timings are counted per page, not per person, and don't include what's in your collection.
The card scanner
When you scan cards, the camera picture is read on your own phone or computer. Pictures never leave your device. Only the text read off the card (such as its set code, number and name) is sent to the app to look the card up. Scanned cards stay on your device until you choose to add them to your collection.
How it's used
- To run the app for you: show your collection and decks, prices, deck suggestions, and matches with friends.
- To send you emails, only if you turn email updates on in Settings. You can turn them off at any time.
- To keep the app working and secure, and to fix problems.
Your information is not used for advertising and is not sold.
Who can see it
- Friends and stores: only what you choose to share with them, such as your trade binder and want list. They never see your whole collection unless you share it.
- Links you create: if you make a public link (for a binder or a decklist), anyone with that link can see what it shows until you turn the link off.
- Claude: if you connect ADEDH to Claude, Claude can read and update your ADEDH data when you ask it to. What it reads is handled by Anthropic under its own terms. You can disconnect it from Settings at any time.
- Service providers: the app runs on Amazon Web Services (servers, backups and email) and uses Google for sign-in. They handle data only to provide those services.
- Other websites your browser loads from: card pictures come from Scryfall, and the card scanner's reading software comes from jsDelivr. Like any website, they see your device's internet address when your browser loads them. No personal information is sent to them.
- Information may be disclosed if required by law.
Cookies and storage
The app uses one sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, plus a short-lived cookie during Google sign-in. Your browser also stores a few preferences, such as light or dark mode and a scanning session in progress. There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no third-party analytics.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Your data is kept on private servers with regular backups, and only Doug can administer them. No system is perfectly secure, but care is taken to protect what you store here.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is kept for as long as you have an account. You can export your collection at any time. To have your account and everything in it deleted, email the address below, and it will be removed from the app. Copies in backups are cleared as the backups age out.
Children
ADEDH is not meant for children under 13, and it doesn't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too. If a change is significant, users will be told in the app.
